Deadly Specter of Asheforde Keep Vanquished!

It was a glorious Sunday morning for the guards and the those that live in the immediate area near the Keep at Asheforde.
During the evening before sunset a small band of adventurers, among them members of Mock and Barrel, the newly minted marquis Donald McMurphy and retinue, the Artificer Heinrich, and a newcomer a Varos named Varg.
It was found that the cause of the Specters rampages were due to a defiled shrine to Atalanta, the Goddess of Heroics, Adventure and Athletics.
Buried in a hidden room that was discovered and excavated by the adventurers was awash with vile effigies, alchemical totems and replaced in the shrine an Alchemical circle dedicated to the Goddess Belet-Seri.
Crafting a Runic Circle to replace the one trapping the Specter. After several Engineers Inscribed the proper symbols the swap of the circles was completed.
Seemingly successful the matter of the Specter was still at hand. Later in the evening around midnight the horrid screams of that tormented the residents of the Keep for years was now free of its metaphysical chains, so to speak.
This also cause the power of the specter to increase, untethered. The same adventures set to put it to rest permanently. With out the binding that meant only one thing. To destroy it utterly.
After a hard won fight using several silvered blades and powerful Alchemical effects the Specter of Asheforde Keep was defeated.

Brigands Have Returned!

After a short time of a reprieve during the winters height. It seemed that even the ne-er-do-wells seemed to lay low for those months.
Many wagons of goods destined for people in numerous towns have been shaken down for protection monies or at worse all their goods taken and if luck their lives spared.
Teamsters and drovers are talking to their respective Guilds to as to whether the prices of delivering these goods should increase. This would have lasting effects to smaller communities.
It has been said that those that do not bring them selves to much attention while traveling the roads Issue 4 have found some safety. With out well lit traveling parties in low numbers the brigands have been shown to pass on attacks.
Is this because they think that those small groups are other gangs and do not want to strike up a rivalry with competitors? Perhaps.
We do know that the roads between Asheforde Keep and the city of Harrowdale have been the most hard hit.
Even with in the walled safety of Harrowdale proper it seems that the Brigands strike with little fear.

Forests Outside Asheforde Overrun with Giant Spiders

Outside the hamlet of Asheforde, not far from the keep itself, the forest is covered in thick webbing and hound sized spiders roam the canopy.
These spiders were not something that was common and almost unheard of until the last four months.
However, nothing of this magnitude has been seen before. Those brave enough to enter the woods that have been taken over say that they can see the large spiders moving about, watching the movements of any that are in the woods that are webbed.
No one is quite sure what has agitated the spiders so much.
On a side note people have told this writer that a spider about the size of a large fist has been seen fading in and out of the shadows around the public house just outside the Asheforde Keep.
These spiders were not something that was common and almost unheard of until the last four months.

Strange Pillars Discovered

A number of strange small pillars have been found in out of the way locations.
The pillars appear to average around three to four feet tall. Each of the four sides have strange runes etched into the stone.
The Society of Arcane Findings is seeking more information on what these pillars could be and used for.

It has been years since the disappearances stopped in the waterfront to Harrowdale. However that has changed.
No less then a dozen sailors and fishmongers have gone missing. The only clues are trails of slime and seawater. Leading to drains, sewers, and lower dock ramps.

Wolves have been Sighted through out the Asheforde Area

The entirety of the woods and deeper forest has been rife with activity, One of the noticeable events has been a larger and more dangerous rise in wolf activity.
Farmers in the area have long been suffering with bandits and the ‘normal’ dangers that come with living in the rural wilds out side the hamlets.
Now, however, with out the guards and security of the Keep of Asheforde to patrol the area the wilds have become even less predictable.
Packs of large ferocious wolves have been moving into cultivated lands, They have been killing livestock and even a number of villagers have narrowly escaped with their lives.
Ideas of the cause over all are still being bandied about. Lack of feeding grounds. Displacement by other predators, or perhaps even unnatural reasons.
Traveling in small groups or solo is highly advised against by the Wardens of the area.
If it becomes worse the Wardens and the Knight of Asheforde Keep has been floating the idea of issuing bounties on Wolf ears, no firm proclamations have been made at this time.

The Order of The Swan was founded by the High General of the Southern Army Sir Arlo Braxton IV.
This Order was the second largest order and is a very strict and structured Order among its Peers. The Order is also viewed as particularly aggressive and brutal in its attacks, being entirely geared towards offensive actions and heavy assaults.
These Knights are stereotypical Heavy Cavalry Lancers, fighting in the heaviest armors and mounted on the largest breeds of hot-bloods bred in the Empire.
They are supported by mounted muskets and mages. The Order also has a large regiment of mining engineers for sieges, sometimes called sappers.
Sir Arlo Braxton is the sole living leader of the revolt and remains the Knight Commander of the Order of the Swan and General Officer of the Army of Coventry.
His three sons now lead the Order and the Army. The Eldest Sir Arlo Braxton V is thought to be the eventual replacement for his father.

Those that seek to earn coin and defend the peace speak to the guard on duty at Asheforde Keep. Those of good character and ability will be compensated 5 pieces of Silver per day.

Strangers have been seen congregating in camps near and around the city of Asheforde. Tinkers and Vagabonds should be handled with utmost care and goods should be considered suspect.
